Three Daily Meals
Nutritious, home-cooked meals served three times daily. Prepared fresh and accommodating dietary needs and cultural preferences.
East Oklahoma City's only boutique senior assisted living facility exclusively for women — with an all-women care team, three meals a day, and a warm, dignified environment where your mother, sister, or grandmother truly belongs.
Marie's House Assisted Living was founded on a simple belief: every woman deserves to age in dignity, comfort, and safety — surrounded by people who truly understand her. Too many East OKC families drive across the city to find quality senior care. We're changing that.
Located at 3217 N Lindsay Ave in East Oklahoma City, Marie's House is a brand-new boutique facility serving women 65 and older. With just 20 residents, every woman is known by name. This is not a nursing home. This is a home.
Frankie Marie Thompson was a mother and a grandmother who held her family together with faith, grace, and an unshakeable love for everyone who walked through her door.
Frankie Marie was not famous. She did not need to be. She cooked the meals that brought her family to the table. She prayed over her children, her grandchildren, and every life she touched. She was the foundation.
The name Marie runs deep in this family. Frankie Marie's son is Harold Thompson, co-founder of this house. Frankie Marie's daughter is Carolyn Marie Farmer — and Carolyn Marie is the mother of Terrence Crawford, Harold's nephew and this project's other co-founder. The name has been carried down through generations as a tribute to the woman who bound this family together — and now it carries forward, as the name of a place built to honor women like her.
As Frankie Marie's needs grew, her family ran into the reality that too many East OKC families know: there was nowhere nearby that felt welcoming, familiar, or worthy of someone like her. The options that existed lacked the warmth and sense of home the family was searching for. That gap — that wrong — is what this house was built to fix.
"We built Marie's House because Frankie Marie deserved better. And so does every woman in this community."
Our women-only policy isn't a marketing line — it's the foundation of everything we do. From our residents to every care aide, every person on our team is a woman.
An all-female living environment that fosters trust, comfort, and genuine community among women who share similar life experiences.
Every care aide, nurse, and administrator is a woman — personally selected, background-checked, and above-market compensated to reduce turnover.
We serve East OKC. Our care honors Black culture, faith traditions, and the deep-rooted community bonds that define our neighborhood.
Women-only residency is legally defensible under Fair Housing Act exemptions for residential care facilities. Your loved one's safety is our priority.
Marie's House provides a full-service living experience designed around comfort, dignity, and joy — not a checklist of clinical services.
Nutritious, home-cooked meals served three times daily. Prepared fresh and accommodating dietary needs and cultural preferences.
Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management — provided with respect and professionalism by our trained women's care team.
Minimum two trained staff on duty every shift — day and night. Our on-call pool ensures your loved one is never without support.
Daily activities coordinated by our LPN Administrator, supplemented by church partners, community volunteers, and OKC senior organizations.
Weekly visits from our licensed RN consultant plus daily clinical supervision from our LPN Administrator/Director of Nursing.
We reserve 4 beds for Oklahoma ADvantage Medicaid waiver participants. Our team helps families navigate the application process.
Every woman who walks through our doors will be celebrated — as an individual, as a community member, as family. From morning devotionals to afternoon activities to evenings filled with warmth and laughter, Marie's House is built for living, not just for care.
Marie's House was not built by investors looking for a return. It was built by a nephew and his uncle — carrying their family's matriarch in their hearts.
"She gave everything to everyone around her. The least we can do is make sure women like her have a place that honors that."
Harold Thompson spent 35 years as an Oklahoma City firefighter — 35 years of running toward people in their most desperate moments. He retired as one of East OKC's most trusted and recognized public servants. But it was a personal moment that changed everything.
When his mother, Miss Marie, began to need more care than the family could provide at home, Harold faced what thousands of East OKC families face every year: there was nothing nearby that truly felt like home. Nothing that honored a woman of her stature and faith. That gap became a calling.
As OKC Managing Partner, Harold brings his fire department discipline, his 35 years of community relationships, his church network, and his deep East OKC roots to every aspect of Marie's House operations. He is on the ground, in the community, every single day.
"My grandmother was the most dignified woman I've ever known. Building Marie's House is the most important thing I'll ever do."
For Terrence Crawford, Marie's House is not a business venture — it is a tribute to the two women who made him who he is. His grandmother — Harold Thompson's mother — is known by her middle name, Marie, and was the kind of woman who held a family together through faith, grace, and unconditional love. His mother, Harold's sister, taught him that purpose matters more than profit.
When his uncle Harold came to him with the vision for Marie's House, there was never any doubt. Terrence stepped in as the financing and strategy lead, navigating the SBA loan process, building the investor structure, and managing every dollar with the discipline this mission demands.
Terrence handles all capital strategy, lender relationships, licensing, and long-term planning — so that Harold can focus on what he does best: being present in the community his mother loved.
An accomplished Licensed Practical Nurse with deep experience in skilled nursing and long-term care, Gwendolyn brings the clinical expertise, compassion, and steady hand that Marie's House requires. Her SNF and LTACH background means 20 residents is a lighter clinical load than her prior settings — giving her the bandwidth to be both a skilled clinician and a warm, engaged presence for residents every day.
Gwendolyn holds an active Oklahoma LPN license and is currently completing all three required RCAL administrator examinations. She will serve as the heart of daily operations — caring for residents the way she would care for her own family.
Families across East Oklahoma City have been searching for exactly what Marie's House is building.
My grandmother has been in three different facilities and none of them felt like home. The idea of a women-only environment where she'd be surrounded by women who look like her and share her faith is exactly what our family has been praying for.
I've been searching for something close to home for my aunt for two years. Everything decent is across town. A brand-new facility, all women, right here in our community — I put us on the waitlist the same day I found out.
As a nurse, I see what happens when senior women are placed where they don't feel safe or seen. Marie's House is building something we desperately need in this community — where dignity and faith come first.
